A Volunteer’s Experience

Once I started the process of figuring out how to tell this story. I began wondering how other seasoned volunteer’s felt about their experiences. Did they question the impact of their efforts like I did? So I started talking with my friend, Jessica Lisy. I decided to document it to show that each volunteer has their own experiences.

But as I follow people who volunteer more and more, the questions of impact starts to come up more and more. With those questions, people start to decide to not spend their money and time volunteering abroad anymore. But with the volunteer industry constantly growing with college applications wanted to see more “diverse” resumes with extra curricular activities and volunteering. I started to see how the constant flow of new volunteers keeps the volunteer companies profitable.
