The Pandemic Continues

As the Pandemic surges again, it has got me thinking about this documentary. At first I was hoping everything would go back to “normal” soon. Now its looking like things won’t go back to “normal” for a while. Will people be scared to travel next year? Will people want to go abroad to volunteer next year? I’m sure there are still people wanting to volunteer abroad, but I feel the numbers have decreased.

Now, I am at a point where I think I will have to reevaluate the idea for this documentary. The pandemic has had a huge affect worldwide, so it will definitely need to be addressed in the documentary.

Some questions I hope to answer: How did the pandemic affect the service trip industry? What was it like before compared to now? Do the service projects completed still help the community now that there are less volunteers?

For now I am formulating new questions and morphing the story to include the affects of COVID19 on these communities. The overarching theme will still very much be about the volunteer abroad industry and how it affects the communities they intend to serve, it will just look different from how it was before this pandemic.
