Final Preparations for Trip #1
Today is Saturday and I will be heading to the airport for Nepal on Sunday night. Now its time for all my final pieces to come together and get packed. I am nervous and really excited. It was a puzzle trying to fit all my equipment in a limited number of bags but I narrowed it down to 2 checked bags, a carry on and a backpack. I am proud of myself for that :).
I will have a 10 hour layover in Qatar before making it to Nepal so I will have loads of time to finish preparing for interviews, final research and securing more plans for the later weeks in April.
My first week will start off in Thamel, a touristy neighborhood in Kathmandu, Nepal. That is where I will explore the volunteer options being advertised to the tourists as well as begin my interviews with some important organization heads and some of the community members there. I am also excited to shop for trinkets for all my Indiegogo campaign contributors who picked that perk once I get there. After that I will be heading to Claire’s to get a follow up interview with her and the other creators of the travel reset movement.
If you are located in Nepal feel free to reach out! I would love to meet more people there!
